Acquerello Restaurant Reviews
A hidden gem, undiscovered by many San Franciscans. Perfect for any special occasion, although its wonderful anytime you want to be pampered. Restaurant was formerly an old church. Modern Italian cooking, anything on the menu is recommended.
After visiting twice I can say that Acquerello can deliver! Excellent food, great service, wonderful wines. But, it is expensive. This is a temple for great food and service. If you want a hipster restaurant--don't come here-- please.
Something in my food was moving and it wasn't supposed to be. Then they tried making us pay for the `delicacy` anyway, suggesting that we put it the salad. Awful experience, ridiculous people.
terrible service: rude, rude, rude. San Francisco has about 500 better restaurants.
Amazing italian. The ridged pasta is a must

I was there with good friends who made the food taste even better. Scottish salmon and Risotto were great.

It's hard to go wrong. Everything's spectacular here.

The place is top notch, however I feel La Folie is better in the same price range

The classic Parmesan budino (described by Michael Bauer as the finest, most exquisite custard, surrounded by tiny greens and topped with black truffle caviar) is a must ... as is a fat wallet.
Specialties: House-made pasta with duck liver and black truffles; lobster panzerotti in spicy lobster broth; cauliflower budino; truffle-stuffed chicken breast; bourbon caramel semifreddo.
Diners select three to five courses. There's also a six-course tasting of the restaurant's signature dishes for $95; wine pairings are $75.

Remember to save room for the mignardise cart laden with exquisite cookies, chocolates, lollipops, and caramels. – Green Guide Editor

Try passion fruit jelly from their complimentary sweets cart. And the macaroons!

Apparently a cancelled reservation will set you back $50 a person. Be warned.

Is The Best. But a lot expensive. Enjoy each second.

Call for an "anniversary dinner" to sit at a corner table for a view of the entire restaurant. Save room for mini dessert selection to finish your meal - fruit tart and carrot cake macaron are best!

Delicious! The lobster panzerotti and ridged pasta with foie gras are heaven!

You can't go wrong every dish was perfect. My favorite was the gnocchi.

Recommended by Wine Spectator (so perfect for visiting parents who are into wine).

Fancy dinner time- dressing up suggested so that you don't feel out of place.

Probably the most thoughtful wine pairings in the city. Tasting menu all the way.

GREAT place for a romantic date! The service is over the top! If you ever want to see what it feels like to be pampered, eat at Acquarello!!

best dining experience ever!

Chef Suzette Gresham-Tognetti’s refined Italian cuisine is exquisite, but don’t miss out on the superb wine service and enjoy some exciting Italian varietals. - Inspector

The pasta with foie gras-induced sauce is beyond amazing!

Winemaker's choice: "... if I simply want to sit down, not make any decisions, get a terrific wine education, have wonderful food, and be taken care I go to Aquerello." Tyler Thomas
Don't miss the pork loin wrapped in pancetta with roasted corn, potato sauce, and clam 'salsa verde.' It goes great with a bottle of 2009 Donelan 'Two Brothers' Pinot Noir.
A jacket is suggested. We wonder if a papal robe would suffice…

Wow, what an experience. It is more of a special occasion place but food and service will wow you. -Tim Nugent, Top Chef Just Desserts
